March Achiever of the Month

Congratulations to Elaine Dowton!

Elaine has been a Challenge member for over 3 and a half years. Last year Elaine had to have an operation on her Achilles tendon. Unfortunately this meant a 4 month break from the gym and many weeks on crutches. 

When she returned to the gym in September 2009 she did so with full throttle!Elaine has been attending Boxercise classes regularly and is back to her usual active self! She is a great inspiration and should reassure anyone who has a serious injury or ailment that you can get back to the gym and build yourself back up again.

Well done Elaine!!!

Wayne’s 6 Pack Challenge!

Wayne (club director of Challenge Gym) has decided top take on a 6 pack Challenge in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. He began his challenge on Monday the 8th Feb and has 12 weeks to get ripped! The challenge will reach its conclusion on 26th April 2010.

Wayne’s starting weight was 15 stone 12 pounds and for those who know him, this will be no easy feat! Will he be able to do it?! All proceeds will go towards helping seriously ill children at Great Ormand Street. Plus if he doesn’t achieve his goal Wayne will be adding 50% of the sponsorship total in to the pot! Keep up to date with Wayne’s progress on our facebook page (challengeactive-ladyfit).

February Achiever of the Month

Julie Simmons is February’s Achiever of the month!  Julie blitzed the gym in January to lose her Christmas pounds. By the fourth week in January she had lost 3 Kgs (half a stone)!

Julie has been attending the gym 4 – 5 times per week and has concentrated on both cardio and muscle toning, as well as participating in classes.

Julie has noticed the difference and we are proud to call her achiever of the month!

February Is National Heart Month

Since February is National Heart Month we’re offering free blood pressure checks to everyone (members and non members included). Call us on 01279 503503 to arrange a time, or simply come into reception to have your blood pressure taken. You can also purchase a red heart badge for a pound (or as much as you’d like to give) from reception. Help us support the British Heart Foundation this February.

Bootcamp Has Begun!

It’s week 2 of Bootcamp and the troops are on an inch loss mission! The classes involve a range of fat burning circuit based exercises sure to help shed those Christmas pounds. And with 2 Bootcamp classes a week – Tuesday 7.15 – 8.15pm and Sunday 10.15 – 11.15am there’s no excuse to miss it! To join in on the action members should simply turn up to the class (no booking currently required). PHASE 3 NOW OPEN!

Our new cardio floor is now open! The main gym has also had a complete re-organisation with new equipment now in place! We hope you enjoy the new facilities!

Gym Closed Monday 7th December

The gym will be closed all day next Monday 7th December. This is to enable us to move all cardio equipment up to the new first floor and completely re-organise the gym. We hope to have the new cardio area fully up and running on Tuesday! We will be open as usual from 7am on Tues 8th December. We apologise for any inconvenience caused at this time and hope you are looking forward to using the new facilities!
